Express For Freedom

                                                                       Visual Culture Minor

Through this fashion documentary we want to evoke a feeling of connectedness between the two individuals we followed. They are the complete opposite yet are connected in their own unique way. We give insights on their vulernabilities and show how in an isolated state of mind they can still express their freedom.

We ask them difficult questions that people from the outside are normally too affraid to ask. By doing this we give the viewer insights in their unique situations and experiences.

It is about specific moments in their lives and most importantly the driving force behind their turning point. These moments have shaped our subjects to who they are today and gave them the strength and freedom to be who they want to be.

We want to create a broader perspective of what freedom is: expression.
How do different people express their freedom?

In the film we follow the two main characters, focussing on their deepest & darkest periods in their life and how they overcame them.

Throughout the film we ask questions like:
What are your vulnerabilities? How did you conquer them? What drives you? How do you express yourself?

It is about specific moments in their lives and most importantly the driving force behind their turning point. These moments have shaped our subjects to who they are today and gave them the strength and freedom to be who they want to be.
